College Algebra

College Algebra continues the study of Algebra by exploring more extended topics in mathematics.

College Algebra videos include the following topics:

  1. A Review of Basic Concepts

This subject begins by reviewing basic concepts in Algebra.  Sections within this topic include: Sets, Properties of Real Numbers, and Simplifying Expressions.

  2. Relations, Functions, and Graphs

Since future subjects require a command of the knowledge of functions, this topic completely explores the notion of relations, functions and their corresponding graphs.  Sections within this topic include Relations and Functions, Functions and Graphs, Graphs and Properties, Linear Relations and Functions, Graphing Quadratic Functions, and Composite and Inverse Functions.

  3. Polynomial Functions

With the concept of functions now understood, we turn our attention to various types of functions.  We begin this journey with the study of Polynomial Functions.  Sections within this topic include: Division of Polynomials, the Remainder and Factor Theorems, The Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, Isolating Real Zeros, and Partial Fraction Decomposition.

  4. Conic Sections

Exploring types of polynomial equations, we explore the subject of conic sections.  Sections within this topic include: The Parabola, The Ellipse and Hyperbola.

  5. Matrices

An extremely useful tool in mathematics is the use of matrices.  Sections in this topic include: an Introduction to Matrices, Matrix Arithmetic, and Matrix Multiplication.

  6. Sequences and Series

Another useful tool in mathematics is the use of Sequences and Series.  Sections within this topic include:  Sequences, Arithmetic Sequences and Series, Geometric Sequences and Series, and the Binomial Expansion.

  7. Probability

The final subject within College Algebra explores the realm of probability.  Sections within this topic include: The Fundamental Principle of Counting, and Permutations and Combinations.
