Description

 

        We next investigate Inverse Trigonometric Functions including differentiation and integration of inverse trigonometric functions.  We then continue our exploration of Inverse Hyperbolic Functions including differentiation and integration and their various forms.

1.   Inverse Trigonometric Functions

 

     This section investigates what is meant by an Inverse Trigonometric Function including domains, ranges, simplifying, verifying identities and solving equations.  Groups within this section include: evaluating inverse trigonometric functions, evaluating inverse trigonometric functions using identities; writing inverse trigonometric expressions as an algebraic quantity in x; verifying identities; solving equations; finding trigonometric functions given an inverse trigonometric function.

 

2.   Derivatives and Integrals That Involve Inverse Trigonometric Functions

 

      With a basis of knowledge of Inverse Trigonometric Functions, we are now interested in both derivatives and integrals involving Inverse Trigonometric Functions.  Groups within this section include: using implicit differentiation; exploring a derivative result; proving integrals; finding slopes of tangent lines at the indicated value of x; finding equations of tangent lines; finding derivatives of inverse trigonometric functions; and evaluating integrals.

 

3.   Inverse Hyperbolic Functions

 

      Continuing our exploration of inverse functions, we finish this section by exploring derivatives of Inverse Hyperbolic Functions.  The group in this section includes; finding derivatives of inverse hyperbolic functions.
