   In this section, we investigate how to evaluate and simplify algebraic expressions. 2. Solving Linear Equations Using the Addition and Subtraction Properties

   One of the most valuable skills to learn in this subject is to solve equations. We begin by learning how to solve linear equations in one variable. The first stage of solving is by using the addition and subtraction properties. Groups in this section include drawing number lines that represent solution sets; solving linear inequalities using the addition and subtraction properties of inequality; solving more linear inequalities using the addition and subtraction properties of inequality; solving compound linear inequalities using the addition and subtraction properties of inequality; solving compound linear inequalities using the addition and subtraction properties of inequality and a calculator.

6. The Multiplication and Division Properties of Inequality

   Continuing our study of solving linear inequalities, we next learn how to solve linear inequalities using the multiplication and division properties of inequality.
